The AARNet community has grown significantly. Customers include universities, health and other research organisations, K-12 schools, vocational training providers and cultural organisations.
On the back of a number of projects that have expanded the reach of the network, the AARNet community has grown significantly over the past two years. In addition to meeting the networking needs of shareholder institutions, AARNet has connected many new customers, including k-12 schools, health, cultural and other organisations with a research and education mission.
In response to this growth, we recently appointed Don Robertson as Director of Customer Relations. Don and his team’s objective is to ensure that our customers across Australia receive great value from their investment in our services.
The team members focusing primarily on shareholder customers are John Batchelder, who will engage with those in VIC, SA and TAS, and Angus Griffin, who will work with institutions in the ACT, NSW, NT, QLD and WA. John and Angus will serve as customer advocates within AARNet, as well a first point of contact for the shareholder customers in these states and territories, ensuring the free flow of information between AARNet and those customers.
There has been positive feedback for this new model within the AARNet community. The team will also continue to engage with customers through various forums, including state based Directors of IT groups and CAUDIT, and looks forward to seeing strong and productive relationships grow as a result of these new changes.
