Paul Hii, AARNet Unified Communications EngineerTell us about your career before AARNet?

After graduating from Monash University I progressed to become a network engineer for IT services at Monash University.  I supported video conferencing, VoIP, RADIUS, Internet control, load balancing and network infrastructure for the university’s local and international campuses.

What does your role at AARNet involve?

I joined AARNet in July this year as a Unified Communications Engineer in the Product Solutions group. The role involves supporting the AARNet National Video Conference (NVCS) and Unified Communications Exchange (AUCX) services. I work with various AARNet teams and vendors to provide value added advanced communication services for AARNet customers, from the beginning of the onboarding process to ongoing support and improvement of the services.

When you’re not working for AARNet?

I try to keep fit by playing squash, cycling and keeping up with my golden retriever. There is also an edible garden at home that always has a bit of space left to plant something new.
